We work with a mixture of silicate, minerals and activated carbon. This increases the silicate content of the water. The activated carbon used reduces taste-impairing substances (chlorine) and organic impurities. We use natural silicates and minerals in our Silicate Mineralized Water cartridge. We would like to point out that transport-related abrasion of these materials can occur, which is released into the water at the beginning of the filter's service life. The first two litres can therefore be cloudy. The turbidity released is completely harmless. For optical reasons, we still recommend discarding the first 2-3 litres until the water is clear.

To achieve an optimal filter effect, you should replace the filter cartridge every four weeks at the latest. However, if the Easy-Control (model A) shows 100 fillings on the display before the four weeks have elapsed, the filter cartridge must be changed before the four weeks have elapsed. This is indicated by a flashing filter cartridge on the display.

It is best to keep the filtered water in your refrigerator. Our models fit perfectly in most refrigerator doors on the market. The filtered water should not be kept for more than 24 hours. If the water stays in the jug for more than 24 hours, discard the water and filter freshwater

In the BWT table water filter system, the drinking water is filtered in four stages: Stage 1: Particles are filtered out of the water. Stage 2: Depending on which filter cartridge technology you have chosen; the water is treated accordingly: Soft Filtered Water: Calcium and heavy metal content are reduced. Soft Filtered Water Extra: Limescale and heavy metal content are further reduced. Magnesium Mineralized Water: Calcium and heavy metal content are reduced; calcium ions are exchanged for magnesium ions. Magnesium Mineralized Water + ZINC: Limescale and heavy metal content are reduced, calcium ions are exchanged for magnesium ions and zinc is added to the water. Balanced Alkalized Water: The heavy metal content is reduced, and the pH value of the water is increased to >8.5. Step 3: Substances that impair smell and taste, such as chlorine and certain organic impurities, are filtered out of the water. Stage 4: Fine filtration is carried out.

The requirements according to DIN 10521 for chlorine, lead and copper retention are also met.

With proper storage, the original BWT filter cartridges can be stored for several years. Proper storage means: At temperatures between 1°C and 40°C. The filter cartridges should always be kept in the original packaging film until the filter cartridge is changed The filter cartridges should be stored cool, dry and protected from direct sunlight

Our production facilities in Austria and Germany are based on the strict ISO guidelines and the hygiene regulations of the HACCP concept and have been checked several times by independent auditors. The food quality of the products is monitored by the independent TÜV Rheinland/LGA. In order to meet the highest hygiene requirements, our filter cartridges are sterilized and provided with a small amount of silver (in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization WHO).
