t way to keep the water in your jug fresh?
The filtering procedure is completed in four to five minutes, and the table water filter is ready for use. If you do not empty the table water filter entirely in one sitting the remaining filtered water can be kept for later. To ensure that just filtered taste , keep it cold and out of direct sunlight as much as possible, for example putting it in your fridge is perfect Luckily the design of both the BWT Vida and Penguin jug means they both will fit neatly into most fridge doors. Health professionals usually recommend the daily dose for water as six to eight glasses per day or roughly 1.2 litres
Going away?
If you are planning to be away for longer than 24 hours we advise you place your jug in your fridge until you return preferably with the filter fully submerged. Been gone for more than two days remove the filter cartridge from the filter jug, and then wash the filter jug with warm soapy water rinse well and refit the cartridge. Refill the jug with clean fresh water, allow to filter completely and then discard this batch of filtered water. Now refill and continue to use in the normal way. We advise replacing cartridge if the water filter jug is not used for more than two weeks
Cleaning- yes, It’s really that easy!
Both types of BWT filter jugs the Vida and Penguin can be put in the dishwasher. The entire body of the jug is suitable for a hot wash cycle. But beware: In the case of table water filters with an electronic change indicator (such as “Easy Control”), you must remove the lid before the wash cycle. Alternatively, the filter jugs can of course also be cleaned by hand with warm water and washing-up liquid.
Change the filter to main premium performance?
In order to guarantee a consistently high quality of the filtered water, it is essential to change the filter cartridge in good time – we recommend changing it at least every four weeks. Most table water filters have a manual or electronic filter change indicator, so you don’t forget to change the cartridge in time. The service life of the filter cartridge is a maximum of four weeks for microbiological reasons. Even if the maximum filter capacity has not yet been reached! The longer the recommended operating time of a cartridge is exceeded, the higher the risk that the table water filter will become contaminated, and the quality of the filtered water will decrease.
If stored properly, original BWT filter cartridges can be kept for two years. We recommend storing them in the original packaging until the filter is ready to be changed. In addition, you should store the cartridges in a cool, dry place and protect them from direct sunlight.
After putting a new filter into service, small amounts of activated carbon dust may be visible in the filtered water. The dust particles are completely harmless. Nevertheless, we recommend filling the carafe, and then rinsing and discarding the first litre of filtered water.
